Welcome to Tnajas restaurant
The name Tinajas comes from the word “tinaja”, a clay piece of pottery, that was used in the old days to keep the drinking water fresh. That is exactly the “fresh flavor” that we offer our customers at Tinajas Restaurant.
Our authentic cuisine is based on a collection of the best traditional Panamanian recipes from around the country, carefully prepared by our chefs with the most fresh native ingredients.
We are located in an old charming colonial house with private rooms such as the Bar Los Diablicos, that make the Restaurant a great place for birthdays, weddings, cocktail parties, conventions, etc.
La Pollera
“La Pollera de Gala” is Panama´s nacional dress. It is the work of experienced seamstresses who spent thousands of hours putting this dress together.
A pollera made of irish linen, consists of a great combination of elaborate stitchings, knittings and appliques, all hand made that make every pollera a unique one.
The jewerly is made out of gold with pearls and precious stone. It is inspired by tradicional symbols that date back to the Spanish influence of the 1,500´s.
“the Tembleques”, head combs, are also out of gold and pearls. The are supposed to move freely to the sounds of the violin, acordeón, guitar and drums.
For all these reasons “The pollera de Gala” is considered the most beautiful and luxurios dress in the World.
