The character of the education offered in the I.E.S.C. is Christian, scientific, integral and committed.
The work that today is the Instituto Episcopal San Cristóbal, began to take shape by the year of 1933, when man of a faith firm in God who came to serve and not be served, Jesus Christ, began to realize his message of redemption of man, organizing a small mission in the suburban of Parque Lefevre and downstream, areas which would later become the dynamic mission of San Cristobal and then the booming Church Episcopal San Cristóbal.
Here the Gospel became life and abundant life. Clergy and laity committed to the time realized that his Ministry asked directions involving the whole of the human being according to the commandment of the Lord; Go ye and teach all peoples, all that I have taught you. These words have the same news today that 2,000 years ago.
The Gospel is inexhaustible source of knowledge, of change, of commitment, of the man for man to the ultimate consequences. With the vicissitudes involving all start, time ran rapidly and that Evangelical commitment get tangled in the whirlwind of the social, economic and cultural reality of the country afloat.
For the years of 1960 the population of the capital city grew to dizzying rhythms, vegetative growth and rural-urban migration. Inhabitants of the center of the city (Calidonia, Chorrillo), of the area of the channel (the mouth, Paradise) and the rural population move to the outskirts of the city. Pueblo Nuevo, Juan Diaz, San Miguelito, Parque Lefevre and downstream. Before the multiplication of urban centers and the increase in the concentration of the population, facilities and social services are insufficient to respond to the demands of the population.
It is in the middle of is social reality that the Episcopal Church San Cristóbal, brings to light its Evangelical commitment, in the vision of local communities provide a centre dedicated to the education of children and young adults. Diocesan support communal and State and foreign in 1965 open the doors of the Episcopal Institute San Cristobal in the House cural, a year after its headquarters building was built and later the gimnasio-auditorio.
